Multi-Platinum hip hop and R&B singer Akon is in the country ready for tomorrow’s concert.

Akon, who arrived on Tuesday night, yesterday promised to give a thrilling concert at the Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dar es Salaam.

He told the press at the Sea Cliff Hotel that he would give entertainment that would make his Dar es Salaam fans remember him forever.

’’I am going to give a historical concert on Friday. I will make sure I give people what they want,’’ he said.

Akon’s band members arrived in the country last Sunday. The musicians are Michael Butler, Cory Boyd, Giorgio Tuifort ’’Jo Jo’’ and Benny D.

Singers to curtain-raise the show are Suma Lee, Noorah, Ngoni, Bebe Cool, Nonini and Necessary Noise.

Belly Dance winners will also have a chance to dance with the Senegalese.

They are Jamila Kassim, Esther Sylvester, Patricia Semiti, Jackline John, Elizabeth John, Mary Chacha, Tunu Yongolo, Slim and Happiness Zuberi.

East Africa Radio, East Africa Television and Dust’Till Dawn Entertainment are the organizers of the show. Sponsors are Celtel, Coca Cola and Sea Cliff Hotel.
