By Pascal Shao, IPP Media
Fri, Mar 23, 2007

A light aircraft owned by ZanAir Company, crashed at Mtwara Airstrip on Wednesday, sending shockwaves to the aviation industry.
Luckily no one was hurt seriously in the morning mishap, sources said.
Zan Air General Manager, Lancy Coutinho admitted the incident took place.
He said the accident was caused by the failure of one of the two engines.
`We have sent our engineers to Mtwara to repair the plane,` he said.
Coutinho said more details about the accident would be released today.
On January 5, this year another light aircraft with 9 tourists aboard crashed in the middle of the world famous Selous Game reserve in Morogoro due to poor condition of the Matambwe airdrome.
