Kenyan rapper Prezzo’s cars impounded
By Editor, Pulse Magazine
Fri, Feb 18, 2005

CMB Prezzo’s ‘Air Force One’ van, BMW and Mercedes Benz were recently impounded by police, allegedly after business lady Rose Wahito, with whom the musician’s family has been involved in business rivalry, had reported that they were stolen.

This took the business war between Prezzo and Rose, who is also Redsan’s executive producer, to another level. Police officers arrived at his home on February 7 and ordered the musician and his mother to take the vehicles to Kilimani Police Station.

He says that after investigations established that the vehicles were legally theirs the police started investigating if duty had been paid. Late last month, Prezzo and his mother Dina Makini were arrested and later released after Rose complained that they had threatened her. Through lawyers Kipkorir, Titoo & Kiara Advocates, the duo is suing the Attorney General for alleged abuse of public office by police officers and wrongful arrest and imprisonment among other things.

Meanwhile, the rapper who seems to be spoiling for war, has unleashed a scathing attack on ragga singer, Redsan, saying that he is not in his music league.

"He needs to snap out of that dream of him being Jamaican and get back to reality." He challenges Redsan to take charge of his music career. "He should stop relying on his girlfriend’s mother.

Prezzo says his respect for Redsan waned when Rose recently claimed that he was jealous of Redsan’s success. "Why the hell should I be jealous of Redsan?" he poses, adding, "it is evident that I have a bigger name. I had more shows last year. In fact, I definitely took him off the (music) business after I released my album."

Prezzo, also known as Jaheim, says that he has bigger support locally. "I got many nominations during the Chaguo La Teeniez and Kisima awards and I didn’t hear his name being mentioned. I don’t refute that he was big before I checked in and ran him out of the business," Prezzo says. Contacted, Redsan said on Wednesday that he has no time for Prezzo. "I have no time for him, I’ve enough things to do. Let my fans decide."
