Young Africans (Yanga) were held to a 1-1 draw by the visiting Prisons of Mbeya in the Vodacom Premier League match at the National Stadium yesterday.
Prisons’ Shaban Mtupa beat Yanga defence to score the goal in the 35th minute before Salvatory Edward equalised for Yanga in the 46th minute.
Referee Israeli Kongo awarded red cards to Said Maulid and Oraph Mwamlima in the 64th minute for fighting in the pitch. Prisons defeated Yanga 1-1 in the first round game on August 22.
Kahama United stopped Mtibwa Sugar when they drew 1-1 in another league match in Kahama yesterday.
Hemedi Matobango scored for Kahama in the 20th minute before Abubakar Mkangwa equalised in 80th minute. Mtibwa hit Kahama 2-1 in the first leg match on August 21.
The results of two games make Simba remain on top on 25 points while Mtibwa Sugar stay in the second slot on 23 points. Police Dodoma and Prisons are in the third and fourth places respectively. Police have 15 points as Prisons have 13.
Yanga are now placed sixth on 12 points.
Simba need to win only two of its remaining matches to retain the title. Dar es Salaam-based team are yet to play Mtibwa Sugar, Police Dodoma and Kahama United.
No any team can win the title apart from Simba and Mtibwa Sugar.
Police Dodoma, Prisons, Yanga, Moro United, Kahama and AFC can not win the title even if they win all remaining matches they can not reach Simba, even if Simba lose all their remaining three matches. Only Mtibwa can reach Simba.
